Blosics HD FREE 1.0.7

The ballistic targeting genre has been overwhelmingly synonymous with Angry Birds since the first title came out. Of course, there has always been the more advanced Worms titles, but in the casual game spectrum, no game managed to surpass it. Well, that may still be the case, however Blosics HD brings in some much needed freshness.

Blosics is a point race with yourself. To complete a level, you will need to score a minimum amount of points. These are scored whenever a colored block falls off the screen. However, every shot you make also costs points. In this way there is no limit of shots, but each one will decrease your score. Initially, you only have one type of projectile, but as you complete levels, additional projectiles are unlocked. Each projectile type has an associated point cost. This system requires you to wager the cost and rewards for firing with a specific type of balls (that's what they are). Rewinding the level is done quickly and effortlessly, so you are free to experiment with techniques and ball types all you want in every level. No more limited projectiles with dedicated testing grounds (à la Angry Birds).

Blosics HD offers two modes of shooting. This is for personal preference, but I have a feeling that certain levels can be passed easier using one or the other, even though there is virtually no difference. The levels advance from reguar atmosphere to water environment, underground and finally, SpAcE!

You will find a very well done game in Blosics HD. The lack of freemium features and the freedom for experimentation that it leaves room for, make Blosics a worthy free title. The ads might be annoying for some, however there are ways around that, from paying to remove them to shutting off your connection.
